Turkey and Italy sign labor and social policy cooperation agreement

Turkey and Italy have signed a memorandum of understanding to enhance cooperation in labor and social policies. The agreement was reached in Rome during a meeting between Turkish Minister of Labor and Social Security Vedat Işıkhan and Italian Minister of Labour and Social Policies Marina Elvira Calderone.

The memorandum focuses on developing collaboration in areas including working life, employment, vocational training, and social security. Minister Işıkhan noted that the increasing economic relationship between the two nations, which includes a goal to reach a bilateral trade volume of $40 billion, creates new opportunities and responsibilities regarding qualified human resources and labor mobility.

Işıkhan emphasized that the close dialogue between President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni has strengthened coordination and cooperation between the two strategic partners and NATO allies.
