Turkey and Italy target 40 billion euro trade volume by 2030
Business representatives from Turkey and Italy met in Izmir for a gala dinner hosted by the Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Izmir and the Consulate of Italy in Izmir. Held at the Agora Archaeological Site, the event celebrated the historical and economic ties between the two nations.
Pietro Alba, President of the Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Izmir, stated that the current trade volume between Italy and Turkey has reached approximately 30 billion euros. He noted that more than 1,500 Italian companies are currently operating in Turkey. The two countries have set a joint goal to increase this trade volume to 40 billion euros by 2030.
In addition to commerce, tourism remains a significant link. Last year, over 810,000 Italian tourists visited Turkey, representing a 13 percent increase compared to the previous year. The event was attended by Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Cemil Tugay and the Italian Consul in Izmir, Daniele Bianchi.
