Turkey and Kazakhstan sign Readmission Agreement in Astana

Turkish Interior Minister Mustafa Çiftçi and Kazakh Interior Minister Yerzhan Sadenov signed a Readmission Agreement in Astana to strengthen legal cooperation regarding migration. The agreement establishes procedures for the return of individuals who lack a legal basis to remain in either country.

During the visit, which coincided with the 3rd Meeting of the Ministers of Interior of the Organization of Turkic States, the two ministers also discussed enhancing security and law enforcement cooperation. Minister Çiftçi highlighted ongoing collaboration in law enforcement training, noting that Kazakh students are currently receiving education at Turkish academies.

In addition to official diplomatic meetings, Minister Çiftçi visited historical and spiritual sites in Turkistan, including the Mausoleum of Khoja Ahmed Yasawi and the Miromon Ata Mosque, to emphasize the shared cultural and spiritual heritage between the nations.
