Turkey and North Macedonia aim for $2 billion trade volume
Turkish Trade Minister Ömer Bolat met with North Macedonia's Minister of International Cooperation and Foreign Investment, Zülfikar Zeynula, to discuss strengthening economic ties. Bolat expressed confidence that updating the free trade agreement between the two nations will help achieve a target trade volume of $2 billion.
Bolat highlighted the existing economic footprint in North Macedonia, noting that Turkish firms have invested $2 billion, providing employment for over 10,000 people. Additionally, Turkish contracting companies are currently managing approximately 45 projects valued at roughly $2 billion.
The discussions followed a Turkey-North Macedonia Business Forum held in Istanbul on June 12, which included North Macedonian Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski and over 300 businesspeople. Bolat expressed interest in holding the next forum in Skopje to further advance strategic cooperation.
