Turkey and Singapore aim to strengthen strategic and economic ties

Turkish Family and Social Services Minister Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş emphasized the commitment to strengthening ties with Singapore during a National Day program held in Ankara. The event marked the 57th anniversary of diplomatic relations and the 12th anniversary of the strategic partnership between the two nations.

Göktaş highlighted that the bilateral trade volume exceeded 1 billion USD last year, noting that Singapore is Turkey's fifth-largest trading partner in Southeast Asia. To further enhance economic and logistical cooperation, she suggested expanding maritime connectivity to complement existing strong air links. A key example of their current cooperation is the Port of Singapore Authority's investment in the Mersin International Port.

Additionally, the Minister noted that Turkey hosted over 40,000 Singaporean visitors in the previous year and expressed support for deepening ties through parliamentary dialogue and increased connectivity in global trade routes.
