Turkey Announces Diesel Price Cut of Nearly 3 TL per Litre

Turkey is set to reduce the retail price of diesel (motorin) by 2.95 Turkish lira per litre, with the discount taking effect from tomorrow. The expected post‑discount prices are projected at 75.57 TL in Istanbul, 76.68 TL in Ankara, 76.95 TL in Izmir and 78.41 TL in the eastern provinces.

Opposition leader Yavuz Ağıralioğlu criticized the higher fuel costs, noting that diesel prices in Turkey have risen about 46 % over the past year, compared with a 32 % increase globally. He highlighted that while the average world diesel price is around 71 TL per litre, Turkish consumers are paying roughly 80 TL, and warned that the price surge affects agriculture, industry and household expenses.
