Turkey announces winter tire mandate dates for commercial vehicles

The mandatory winter tire regulation in Turkey for the 2026-2027 period is scheduled to begin on November 15, 2026, and conclude on April 15, 2027. The five-month application aims to enhance traffic safety during winter conditions.

The requirement specifically applies to commercial vehicles engaged in intercity passenger and freight transportation. This includes buses, minibuses, midibuses, trucks, tractors, tankers, and other commercial vehicles used for intercity transport, such as light commercial vehicles, vans, and panel vans.

Currently, there is no mandatory winter tire requirement for private passenger cars.
