Turkey appoints new chief prosecutors in Kırıkkale and Bartın

The Judges and Prosecutors Council (HSK) issued its 2026 main decree on 12 June 2026, reshuffling chief prosecutors across Turkey. Ahmet Rüfai Şahin, previously the chief prosecutor of Bartın, was appointed to lead the Kırıkkale prosecutor’s office. At the same time, Yusuf Tuğrul, who had served as Hınıs chief prosecutor, was transferred to become the chief prosecutor of Bartın. The decree affected 33 provinces, moving thousands of judges and prosecutors and redefining senior judicial posts nationwide. These appointments are part of a broader effort to reorganise the country's judicial administration.
