Turkey arrests 9 in Ordu fraud sting involving 324 million lira
Police and the Ünye Chief Public Prosecutor's Office carried out a coordinated operation in Ordu Province targeting a qualified fraud scheme and misuse of bank and credit‑card data. Twelve suspects were detained in a simultaneous raid centred on Ünye, and investigations of MASAK reports revealed suspicious financial activity totaling 324,067,324 Turkish lira over the previous year.
Following the arrests, nine of the suspects were ordered to prison, one was released under judicial control and two were released after giving statements. Searches of the suspects’ homes yielded seven mobile phones, three SIM cards, a USB flash drive and a tablet. Authorities said the anti‑fraud work will continue.
