Turkey assigns 14 new judges and prosecutors to courts
The Judges and Prosecutors Council (HSK) published its appointment decree in the Official Gazette on 10 June 2026, confirming the placement of 11 newly selected public prosecutor candidates and three newly selected judge candidates. The appointments follow the draw held on 8 June 2026, which assigned the candidates to first‑instance courts across the country. Specific postings include prosecutor candidates such as Harun Akçilgin to Çayıralan, Semih Arslan to Istanbul, and Muhammed Tayyib Aydın to Şebinkarahisar, as well as judge candidates like Furkan Katırcı to Bahçesaray and Gülizar Akgündüz to Hatay. The decree, signed by the President, finalises the candidates' entry into the judicial service, enabling them to begin duties in their respective courts after completing pre‑service training. The assignments aim to reinforce Turkey’s judicial infrastructure and expedite case handling nationwide.
