Turkey authorizes urgent expropriation for energy projects

The Turkish government has issued decrees for the urgent expropriation of real estate to support various energy and infrastructure projects. These decisions, published in the Official Gazette, involve both the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEİAŞ) and the Turkish Petroleum Corporation (TPAO).

TEİAŞ projects slated for expropriation include the 400/154 kV Yeşilhisar Transformer Station Connection Lines Project, the 380 kV Altınkaya-Sinop Energy Transmission Line Project, and the 154 kV Çekerek Basin-Turhal Energy Transmission Line Project. Additionally, the 154 kV Nizip Organized Industrial Zone Transformer Station Site Project will undergo similar processes. These actions involve acquiring ownership for pole locations and establishing easement rights for conductor clearance.

TPAO is also authorized to conduct urgent expropriations for the Trakya Petroleum and Natural Gas Search and Production Project. This includes land required for exploration, production sites, administrative campuses, storage facilities, and pipelines. The decrees cover multiple provinces to facilitate the development of oil and gas infrastructure.
