Turkey authorizes urgent expropriations for energy projects
Presidential decrees published in the Official Gazette have authorized the urgent expropriation of properties across various Turkish provinces to facilitate major energy and infrastructure projects.
BOTAŞ will undertake expropriations for natural gas pipeline and connection line projects in Ordu, Tokat, Ağrı, Eskişehir, Muş, Bingöl, Ardahan, Aksaray, and Erzincan. Specific projects include the Aybastı-Korgan-Kumru-Gölköy line in Ordu and the Doğubayazıt CS-Pullutarla Pig line.
In the electricity sector, TEDAŞ has been authorized to expropriate land for 13 energy transmission line projects across Karaman, Kırşehir, Konya, Nevşehir, Niğde, and Yozgat. Additionally, TEİAŞ will expropriate land for the Yahşihan Transformer Center Project.
Other regional developments include the expropriation of 18 properties in Alanya, Antalya, by the Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EPDK) for natural gas distribution facilities, and urban transformation expropriations in the Aziziye district of Erzurum.
