Devlet Bahçeli affirms Turkey-Azerbaijan ties and OTS cooperation

Devlet Bahçeli, leader of the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP), issued a statement regarding the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) and the strengthening ties between Turkey and Azerbaijan. Bahçeli emphasized that the OTS has become an institutional platform for shared history, culture, and a common vision for the future, noting increased cooperation in defense, technology, energy, and education.

Bahçeli stressed that all cooperation within the OTS must be based on respect for the sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity of each member state. He described Turkey and Azerbaijan as two powerful states within the same 'heart geography,' asserting that their brotherhood transcends political developments and is rooted in a shared collective memory.

In response to recent social media discussions and tensions, Bahçeli called for common sense and mutual understanding, warning against any attempts to sow discord or undermine the fraternal legal bond between the two nations. Similarly, Perviz Altay, President of the Izmir Azerbaijan Association (IZAZDER), urged social media users and media outlets to avoid making generalizations based on isolated posts and to respect the deep-seated trust between the two peoples.
