Turkey battles multiple farm and cemetery fires destroying crops and property

On recent days three separate fires erupted in Turkey. One broke out in the Boğaziçi cemetery area, another in Yıldırım's Ağıllar region, and a third at Kalecik's water‑depot site. Police, fire and forest‑service teams, aided by local residents, extinguished the blazes, but the incidents burned extensive hay, wheat, plastic irrigation hoses, electric cables, greenhouse frames and other materials across hundreds of dunams, causing significant agricultural and infrastructural loss.

A separate incident occurred in Konya's Seydişehir district where a grass fire ignited in a cemetery. Municipal and fire‑department crews quickly responded with water tankers, containing the fire before it could spread. No injuries were reported, and authorities have opened an investigation into the cause.
