Turkey central government budget records August surplus

The Ministry of Treasury and Finance announced that the central government budget recorded a surplus of 12.852 billion lira in August 2026. During this month, budget revenues rose by 28.5% compared to the same period last year, reaching 1.654 trillion lira, while expenditures increased by 37.8% to 1.642 trillion lira.

Despite the monthly surplus, the cumulative budget deficit for the first eight months of the year reached 1.308 trillion lira. For the January-August period, total revenues amounted to 10.854 trillion lira, while total expenditures reached 12.162 trillion lira. Additionally, the non-interest budget surplus for August was reported at 209.9 billion lira.
