Turkey climbs to fourth place in global tourist arrivals

Turkey recorded 60.6 million international visitors in the latest World Population Review data, placing the country fourth worldwide behind France, Spain and the United States. The influx pushes Italy, Germany, the United Kingdom, Japan and Greece further down the rankings.

Tourism revenue exceeded $56 billion, reflecting higher per‑visitor spending and a broader mix of sea, cultural, health, gastronomy and winter tourism. The Ministry of Culture and Tourism credited sustained promotion campaigns, heritage‑site investments and year‑round product diversification for the achievement.

Analysts note that Turkey’s continued growth could see it challenge the top three spots in coming years as it adapts to shifting travel trends and global market conditions.
