Turkey communications sector investments reach 55.6 billion lira

Turkey's electronic communications sector saw significant growth in the second quarter of 2026. According to data from the Information and Communication Technologies Authority, investments in the sector rose by 86.9% compared to the same period last year, reaching 55.6 billion lira.

Total mobile subscribers reached 102.2 million, representing a 6% increase from the previous year. When including Machine-to-Machine (M2M) subscribers, the mobile penetration rate reached 101% of the population, and 115.9% when excluding M2M and the 0-9 age demographic. M2M subscriptions specifically grew by 36.4%, reaching 15.2 million.

Broadband internet subscribers also surpassed the 100 million mark, totaling 100.8 million. The sector currently includes 418 operators with 766 issued authorizations.
