Turkey conducts inspections on cosmetic and stationery products
Turkish authorities have identified safety and regulatory violations in several consumer product categories following recent inspections.
In the cosmetics sector, the Ministry of Health examined 95 products between July and September. Of these, 57 were found to be in violation of regulations. While 50 products failed to meet technical standards, seven were identified as posing direct health risks. As a result, administrative fines exceeding 11.2 million lira were issued. The non-compliant items included shampoos, hair conditioners, hair dyes, and colognes.
Separately, the Ministry of Trade issued a ban and a recall order for a specific watercolor and brush set sold by a brand in chain stores. The product was deemed unsafe due to chemical risks that pose a threat to children's health. The Ministry emphasized its ongoing commitment to monitoring market safety and protecting consumer health.
