Turkey cracks large fake disability report network in Kırklareli operation

Police in Kırklareli coordinated simultaneous raids across 12 provinces, targeting organised crime groups that forged disability reports. Thirteen suspects were detained and subsequently sentenced to prison, while five were released under judicial control and three were freed after statements.

The scheme used real patients' blood and urine samples to produce counterfeit reports, charging roughly 150,000 TL per document. Participants included two doctors, three medical secretaries and a teacher who allegedly secured a public‑sector position through the fake reports. The fraud enabled beneficiaries to claim vehicle tax exemptions, disability pensions, early retirement and other social‑aid benefits, causing estimated state losses of about 100 million TL and illicit earnings of roughly 17.85 million TL. Assets of the suspects were seized and the investigation continues.
