Turkey deepens ties with Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan through university accords and seed initiative
Afyon Kocatepe University joined the 4th Uzbekistan‑Turkey Rectors' Forum in Bukhara, where Turkish and Uzbek university leaders signed cooperation protocols with Gulistan Technical University and Bukhara Education Innovation and Medical University. The two‑day event hosted 18 Turkish and 36 Uzbek rectors and covered topics such as engineering integration, higher‑education management, and digital technologies.
Separately, the Ministry of Youth and Sports launched the “Ata Tohumları Buluşuyor” expert‑mobility project under the International Exchange Programs. Ten specialists from the Osmaniye Youth Center will travel to Kyrgyzstan’s Manas University to exchange practices on heirloom seed preservation, sustainable farming and cultural heritage. The programme includes workshops, field visits and promotion of non‑GM local varieties. As Osmaniye Youth Center Director Bayram Bozyel stated, “We aim to bring good practices to our country and Osmaniye.”
