Turkey Defense Ministry adds compensation for SBÜ military students
Turkey's Ministry of National Defense (MSB) announced that military candidates enrolled at the Health Sciences University (SBÜ) campuses in Ankara Gülhane and Istanbul Hamidiye will receive an additional "Military Health Services Compensation" along with standard officer pay. All expenses during study – dormitory, meals, books, uniforms and health insurance – are covered by the ministry, and students receive a monthly stipend.
Graduates will enter service as lieutenant‑ranked medical or dental officers and become permanent members of OYAK under Law No. 205. They will also have access to army housing, special quota placements in the TUS, DUS and sub‑specialty exams, and rights to overseas training, conferences and employment in Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) units or Ministry of Health hospitals.
Application procedures follow the OSYM guidance, with candidates undergoing physical evaluation after their YKS results. Further details are available on the MSB website.
