Turkey dental tourism leads to total tooth loss and 21,000 euro cost

Jackie Lynn, a 38-year-old woman from Norwich, has lost all her teeth following a series of dental procedures in Turkey. Seeking to address dental issues caused by declining estrogen levels, she initially underwent composite bonding costing approximately 3,500 euros.

After the initial bonding failed, she traveled to Turkey again for crowns, paying an additional 7,000 euros. She reported experiencing extreme pain and discovered she had received dental bridges and 15 root canal treatments instead of the individual crowns she expected. Following further advice from a different dentist regarding overly worn teeth, she underwent procedures to replace her teeth with implants.

The total cost of the treatments reached approximately 21,000 euros, a sum she had to borrow from her father. The medical complications included a dental abscess and a severe infection that spread from her teeth through her face and cavities into her bloodstream, causing significant facial swelling and requiring hospitalization.
