Turkey detains 55 suspects accused of financing ISIS in raids across 21 provinces

Turkish security forces carried out simultaneous operations targeting individuals alleged to have funded the terrorist organization ISIS (DEAŞ). In Istanbul, police, alongside the Financial Crimes Investigation Board (MASAK), detained eight suspects suspected of channeling money under the guise of humanitarian aid. Searches uncovered firearms, knives and digital material that could aid organizational activities.

In a broader sweep covering 21 provinces—including Şanlıurfa, Konya, Ağrı, Van, Kocaeli, İzmir and others—authorities arrested 47 additional suspects. Officials reported the seizure of 97 digital files, 11 prohibited publications, €1,900 in cash, a rifle and 50 rounds of ammunition, as well as large‑scale financial transactions amounting to 108 million units of currency. The investigations remain ongoing as police continue to probe the financing network.
