Turkey announces major agricultural and livestock subsidies

The Turkish Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry has announced extensive new support packages for the agricultural and livestock sectors, covering the 2026-2027 production periods.

For livestock, significant increases have been implemented for calf, lamb, and goat supports, alongside enhanced payments for shepherds. In Balıkesir, approximately 189.5 million TL is being distributed to producers, primarily for calf support. In Konya, over 718 million TL is allocated for large-scale livestock support.

In the plant production sector, the ministry has updated support coefficients for 2026 and 2027. Notable increases were directed toward planned production, with support for lentils and chickpeas rising by 141 percent. Additionally, the 2027 production planning for regions like Kayseri has been finalized, defining specific crop patterns for various districts to optimize regional output.

Rural development programs are also targeting small-scale and family businesses. For the 2026 Rural Development Investment Program, 11.3 billion TL in grants has been approved for 3,180 projects, with 77 percent of the budget allocated to family enterprises, including significant portions for women and young entrepreneurs.
