Turkey electric vehicle charging data shows September trends

According to September statistics released by the Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EPDK), the number of electric vehicles in Turkey has surpassed 490,000. During the month, a total of 3,152,733 charging operations were performed.

Total electricity consumption in the charging service market reached 83,253 megawatt-hours, representing a 14.6% decrease compared to the 97,469 megawatt-hours recorded in August. The number of charging operations also declined from approximately 3.5 million in August to 3.1 million in September.

Data indicates a strong preference for fast charging (DC) stations. DC stations accounted for 82.44% of total energy consumption and 74.64% of the total number of charging operations. In contrast, alternating current (AC) charging accounted for 17.56% of energy consumption and 25.36% of operations.

Peak electricity consumption occurred between 17:00 and 18:00, with 5,730 megawatt-hours consumed during that hour. Daily consumption was highest on September 6 and lowest on September 15. On average, electricity consumption was higher during weekends, with Sundays and Saturdays recording higher usage than weekdays.
