Turkey electricity outages cause safety risks and business losses

Frequent electricity outages and technical failures are causing significant disruption and safety concerns in various parts of Turkey. In the Muradiye neighborhood of the Yunusemre district in Manisa, a resident was trapped in an elevator for approximately 27 minutes after a sudden power cut occurred seconds after they entered the lift. The individual expressed fear for their safety, noting that the recurring outages pose a serious risk to human life.

In Istanbul's Beşiktaş district, prolonged power outages have led to widespread frustration among residents and business owners. Some areas reported being without electricity for several hours, with citizens claiming that official notifications regarding restoration times were inaccurate. Local business owners reported losses due to spoiled goods in refrigerators, with some calling for legal action and compensation due to the lack of infrastructure updates.
