Turkey: Erdoğan travels to Kyrgyzstan as key economic and defense meetings scheduled

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is traveling to Kyrgyzstan to attend the opening ceremony of the World Nomad Games in Bishkek.

In domestic politics, CHP leader Özgür Özel is scheduled to attend the funeral of former Kocaeli MP Mehmet Cevdet Selvi at the Grand National Assembly of Turkey and preside over a Party Assembly meeting.

On the economic front, the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) will release 2025 annual GDP data, second-quarter seasonal GDP figures, and July labor statistics. Additionally, the Central Bank of the Republic of Türkiye will publish monthly money and banking statistics.

In international defense, the first meeting of the Strategic Political and Defense Committee—established under the Makkah Joint Defense Agreement between Türkiye, Pakistan, and Saudi Arabia—will take place in Istanbul. The meeting will include Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Defense Minister Yaşar Güler, and Chief of General Staff Selçuk Bayraktaroğlu, alongside officials from Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
