Turkey expands medical tourism into longevity industry

Turkey is expanding its medical tourism sector from traditional aesthetic procedures, such as hair transplants, into the emerging longevity industry. While the country already performs approximately 80 hair transplant operations daily, new investments are targeting long-term health and wellness.

Clinics in Istanbul, such as those managed by Burak Tuncer, report treating between 2,500 and 3,000 international patients monthly. New services being promoted include ozone therapy—a process where blood is enriched with oxygen and ozone before being returned to the body—which proponents claim aids sleep and recovery, though scientific evidence for these specific effects is noted as lacking.

A major development in this sector is a planned €250 million longevity complex in Sile, near Istanbul. The project aims to become one of Europe’s largest wellness centers and is expected to be completed within two years, offering exclusive services to members.
