Turkey's 11th Efficiency Awards Honor Kayseri Wind Project and İnegöl Lean Municipality

The 11th Efficiency Project Awards, organized by the Ministry of Industry and Technology's Strategic Research and Efficiency General Directorate, were held at the KOSGEB Conference Hall in Ankara. Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality received the second‑place award in the Public Green Transformation category for its 21 MW wind‑energy power plant – the first such installation in Turkey’s public‑transport sector. The award was presented by Minister Mehmet Fatih Kacır.

İnegöl Municipality’s “Lean Municipality” project was placed second in the Public‑Process Improvement category, also receiving its prize from Minister Kacır. The competition attracted 451 project submissions, with 28 projects honored across ten categories, and the announced winners are expected to generate about 3.7 billion Turkish lira in savings for the public and private sectors.

In his ceremony remarks, Minister Kacır highlighted Turkey’s industrial expansion, noting that manufacturing value‑added had risen from $41 billion to over $250 billion and exports from $36 billion to $278 billion. He outlined plans to increase model factories to 16, and described support measures for the digital and green transition, including up to 226 million lira in grants, tax deductions of up to 40 percent, and more than $1 billion in financing for firms and green‑technology ventures.
