Turkey Family and Youth Fund provides interest-free loans to young couples

Turkey’s Minister of Family and Social Services, Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş, announced that the Family and Youth Fund has disbursed 1.756 billion lira to 15,468 young people during October. The fund, financed by revenues from Turkey’s underground resources, aims to strengthen family structures and protect youth from social risks.

To date, the fund has provided 22.804 billion lira in interest-free credit to a total of 238,448 young individuals. The support structure includes loans of 250,000 lira for couples where both partners are aged 18–25, and 200,000 lira for those aged 26–29. These loans feature a 48-month term with a two-year grace period.

Incentives are also provided for childbirth: for the first child, 12 months of installments are granted as a subsidy, and remaining debts are deferred for 12 months. If a second child is born within an extended 60-month period, the remaining debt is fully forgiven. According to Minister Göktaş, 23,638 couples supported by the fund have given birth to 24,176 children.
