Turkey foundation universities set medical school fees up to 3.74 million lira

The 2026‑2027 YKS programme guide published by ÖSYM disclosed tuition fees for Turkey’s foundation (private) universities. The highest annual fee for medical programmes is 3,740,000 TL at Istanbul Nişantaşı University, followed by Acıbadem Mehmet Ali Aydınlar University (3,300,000 TL) and Koç University (3,249,000 TL). The lowest listed price is 990,000 TL at Istanbul Medipol University. Over a six‑year medical programme, total costs at the most expensive institutions can exceed 20 million TL.

Fees for other high‑demand programmes also rose sharply: dentistry programmes surpass 2 million TL annually, while law, engineering and other fields reach between 1 million and 2.5 million TL. Approximately 8 % of Turkey’s 7 million higher‑education students attend foundation universities, making the new price structure a major consideration for prospective students alongside scholarships, tuition‑increase policies, hospital affiliations, faculty quality and career prospects.
