Turkey fuel prices expected to rise due to tax increases
Fuel prices in Turkey are expected to rise significantly at the beginning of November due to scheduled Special Consumption Tax (ÖTV) adjustments. According to industry sources and presidential decrees, a phased tax increase is set to take effect on November 1, 2026.
Expected increases include approximately 4.15 TL per liter for gasoline and 3.60 TL per liter for diesel. If these adjustments are implemented, diesel prices in major cities like Istanbul could exceed the 100 TL threshold, while gasoline is expected to rise above 80 TL per liter.
Additionally, there are reports of a potential 9 TL increase per liter for LPG, which could be effective from November 3. If realized, LPG prices may surpass 50 TL in many metropolitan areas. While the tax changes are scheduled for November 1, industry experts note that the exact timing of the pump price updates may depend on market closures over the weekend.
