Turkey fuel prices: Diesel hike and gasoline reduction

As of October 10, 2026, fuel prices in Turkey have undergone significant changes, with diesel (motorin) seeing a substantial price increase while gasoline (benzin) prices have decreased.

Reports indicate that diesel prices rose by approximately 6.39 to 6.75 TL per liter. In major cities, this hike has pushed diesel prices toward the 100 TL threshold. For instance, in Istanbul (European side), diesel rose to approximately 96.60 TL, while in Ankara it reached 97.70 TL, and in Izmir it climbed to 98.00 TL.

Conversely, gasoline prices saw a reduction of approximately 80 to 96 kuruş per liter. Following this adjustment, gasoline prices in Istanbul (European side) dropped to around 83.74–83.80 TL, in Ankara to 84.74–84.80 TL, and in Izmir to 84.94–85.10 TL. LPG prices remained largely stable across most regions.

These fluctuations are attributed to volatility in global petroleum markets, including Brent crude oil price movements, and domestic exchange rate shifts. The changes reflect broader economic pressures and the recent expiration of the 'eşel mobil' system used to mitigate consumer impact from global price swings.
