Turkey fuel prices: Gasoline discounts widen gap with diesel
Following two consecutive price reductions for gasoline on October 20 and 22, the price gap between gasoline and diesel has reached a significant level across Turkey. Gasoline prices saw a total decrease of approximately 7.60 to 7.72 TL per liter, while diesel prices remained stable.
In major cities such as Istanbul, Ankara, and Izmir, the price difference between the two fuel types has widened to over 20 TL per liter. For a standard 50-liter tank, this results in a cost difference of approximately 1,025 TL between gasoline and diesel vehicles. While gasoline users benefit from recent savings, diesel vehicle owners—including those in the logistics and tourism sectors—face higher relative costs.
Regional variations persist; for instance, gasoline prices in Istanbul (European side) are reported around 76.30 TL, while in Ankara they are approximately 77.24 TL. LPG prices also vary by distributor and region, typically ranging between 39 TL and 45 TL per liter.
