Turkey fuel prices see gasoline drop and major diesel hike

Fuel prices in Turkey underwent significant changes on Saturday, October 10, 2026, characterized by a decrease in gasoline prices and a substantial increase in diesel (motorin) costs.

Nationwide, the price of gasoline per liter saw a reduction of 96 kuruş. In contrast, diesel prices experienced a sharp hike of 6 lira 50 kuruş per liter. This increase has raised cost concerns for diesel vehicle owners, transporters, and farmers. In major cities, diesel prices reached 96 lira in Istanbul, 97 lira in Ankara, and 98 lira in Izmir.

In the Black Sea region, including cities such as Trabzon, Rize, Giresun, Ordu, and Samsun, diesel prices also remained high, generally hovering around 98 lira per liter. The spike in diesel costs significantly impacts commercial vehicle users and the transportation sector, as the cost to fill a 50-liter tank has risen by 325 TL compared to previous rates.
