A series of fuel price adjustments announced for Turkey in July 2026 will raise diesel (motorin) prices by 4.20 TL per litre, pushing the average cost above 80 TL. The increase, effective at midnight on 24 July, follows a seventh price hike in the past 15 days and adds to recent gasoline (benzin) increases of about 1.23 TL, putting gasoline rates above 67 TL in major cities.

The hikes are attributed to global petroleum market pressures: Brent crude has hovered near the $100 per‑barrel mark, while geopolitical tensions involving the United States‑Iran conflict, the Russia‑Ukraine war, and concerns in the Hormuz Strait have tightened supplies. In Turkey, fluctuating exchange rates and periodic adjustments to the special consumption tax (ÖTV) amplify the impact on pump prices.

City‑by‑city tables released on 24 July list the new retail rates: Istanbul (European side) diesel 74.28 TL, Ankara diesel 75.40 TL, İzmir diesel 75.67 TL; gasoline ranges from 66.79 TL to 68.19 TL, and LPG remains around 31 TL per litre. Analysts warn that continued upward pressure on Brent oil could trigger further adjustments in the near future.
