Turkey halts SVGYO trading after near‑40% weekly plunge

On July 10, Borsa İstanbul’s BIST 100 index rose 1.5% to 14,321 points. The Capital Markets Board (SPK) issued a volatility‑based precaution for Savur Gayrimenkul Yatırım Ortaklığı (SVGYO), prohibiting short‑selling and leveraged transactions on the stock from July 13 to August 12, 2026. The share slid 39.7% over the week and 31% for the month, closing at 13.86 TL after a 10% daily drop.

A separate market analysis highlighted strong inflows into several Turkish equities, with price and volume surges in companies such as Beta Enerji, Orzaks İlaç, VBT Yazılım, and others. For example, Beta Enerji rose from 64.35 TL to 70.75 TL, its trade count jumping 695%, while Orzaks İlaç gained to 80 TL with a 241% rise in transactions. The data suggests heightened investor demand, particularly for technology and energy stocks, though analysts warn that volume spikes alone do not guarantee sustained moves.
