Turkey highlights historical sites in Pamukkale and Alanya

Turkey's historical and natural landscapes continue to draw attention through sites like Pamukkale-Hierapolis and Alanya. Pamukkale, a UNESCO World Heritage site listed since 1988, is characterized by its white travertine terraces formed by calcium-rich thermal waters. These terraces, reaching up to 160 meters in height and 2,700 meters in length, coexist with the ancient city of Hierapolis, which features Greco-Roman and Early Christian era structures including a theater, temples, and baths.

In Alanya, the historical legacy of the Seljuk Empire remains visible through landmarks such as the Red Tower, the shipyard, and city walls built during the reign of Sultan Alaeddin Keykubat. Beyond its historical sites and the famous Cleopatra Beach, the region has become a significant hub for tropical agriculture. The area currently produces approximately 40 different types of tropical and subtropical fruits, including bananas, avocados, dragon fruit, mango, and star fruit.
