Turkey holds forest fire response training in Muğla and Bayburt

The Muğla Forestry Regional Directorate organised a hands‑on fire‑prevention programme at Denizova Primary School. Under the leadership of forest operation manager Sercan Eken, pupils learned about protecting forests, the dangers of open fires, how to use the 112 emergency number and practiced operating fire‑hoses alongside firefighters.

In Bayburt, the provincial AFAD office conducted a two‑day Inter‑Agency Coordination and Forest‑Fire Intervention Training on 8‑9 June. Public‑sector officials and NGO representatives were briefed on response procedures, the Turkey Disaster Response Plan (TAMP) and the roles of various agencies during wild‑fire incidents, including evacuation, shelter, health, transport, communications and security.
