Turkey hosts major gastronomy festivals in Gaziantep and Trabzon
Turkey is hosting two major culinary events aimed at promoting regional gastronomy and tourism.
The GastroAntep International Gastronomy Festival, held in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, will take place from October 3 to 11 at the Gaziantep Festival Park. Under the theme “Age of Experience: Gastronomy, Agriculture, Tourism and Hospitality,” the event will feature workshops led by international chefs from Italy, Egypt, Malta, the United Kingdom, France, Lebanon, Jordan, and the Netherlands. Local Turkish chefs will also participate in sessions focusing on regional ingredients and culinary techniques.
Separately, the Trabzon Gastronomy Festival is scheduled for October 29 to November 1. Organized by the Trabzon Metropolitan Municipality, the event aims to showcase the city's diverse food culture through 45 different flavor points, including traditional items like Akçaabat meatballs, Hamsiköy rice pudding, and Sürmene pide. The festival will include masterclasses by renowned chefs such as Danilo Zanna, Osman Sezener, and Maksut Aşar, alongside workshops, concerts, and exhibitions representing the 18 districts of Trabzon.
