Turkey IMEI registration fees projected to rise significantly

The cost of registering foreign mobile phones in Turkey is seeing significant increases. For 2026, the IMEI registration fee is set at 54,258 TL. Projections suggest that if a revaluation rate of approximately 28 percent is applied, the fee could rise to roughly 69,450 TL in 2027.

Unregistered devices brought from abroad are subject to usage limits. Typically, a device can be used for 120 days per calendar year. However, for devices supporting dual SIM or e-SIM technology, the total usage period can be extended up to eight months by utilizing different SIM options.

Once the IMEI usage period expires, the device may lose access to mobile communication services in Turkey. While usage rights may reset with the new calendar year, some devices may require several days to reactivate. Authorities also warn that illegal attempts to extend usage by modifying IMEI information carry legal and technical risks.
