Turkey reorganizes 112 emergency services and ministry structures

A presidential decree published in the Official Gazette has restructured the organizational frameworks of three Turkish ministries. A key development is the establishment of the 112 Emergency Call and Coordination General Directorate under the Ministry of Interior. This new unit will oversee the coordination of emergency services nationwide, managing calls related to public order, security, health, and disasters.

In all 81 provinces, existing 112 Emergency Call Center Directorates will be renamed Provincial 112 Emergency Call and Coordination Directorates. Current managers will automatically transition to these new roles without requiring new appointments. The new structure aims to integrate artificial intelligence and big data to enhance decision-making and response speeds.

Additionally, the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources and the Ministry of Industry and Technology will both establish Information Technology General Directorates to manage digital transformation and cybersecurity. The decree creates a total of 105 new administrative positions, with 98 of these allocated to the Ministry of Interior.
