Türkiye Revenue Administration implements robotic process automation
Türkiye’s Revenue Administration (GİB) has integrated robotic process automation (RPA) to streamline tax-related transactions and correspondence. The automation has already generated over 200,000 documents without manual staff intervention, including more than 205,000 correction slips and 75,000 tax penalty notices delivered via electronic notification.
The Digital Tax Office platform now offers 261 services, such as tax payments, applications, and returns. Since its launch, the platform has recorded over 750 million visits. In the first nine months of 2026, approximately 18.3 million applications and petitions were submitted electronically. The adoption of digital documentation is also rising; e-invoice and e-ledger users both surpassed 2.2 million during the same period.
To enhance oversight, the Central Monitoring System, introduced in 2024, monitors operations across 860 tax offices, producing roughly 56,000 reports monthly. Treasury and Finance Minister Mehmet Şimşek stated that these digital transformation initiatives aim to shorten processing times, improve administrative efficiency, and reduce errors while safeguarding taxpayer rights. Future plans include utilizing artificial intelligence, big data, and blockchain to further enhance service capacity.
