Turkey implements new athlete health report regulations
New regulations regarding athlete health reports have officially entered into force following their publication in the Official Gazette. The updated regulation aims to prioritize athlete health while reducing bureaucracy in the licensing process.
For low-risk sports such as chess, scouting, archery, and folk dancing, individuals can now complete licensing procedures via the e-Nabız system using a status document and health declaration, removing the requirement for a physician visit.
Health reports issued by physicians will now be valid for three years, unless a shorter period is specified for follow-up examinations. Health status documents will remain valid for one year. However, if a change in health status is detected through personal declaration or institutional observation, individuals will be referred to a specialist for new assessments.
Additionally, the regulation eases requirements for athletes with disabilities. They are no longer required to obtain separate athlete health reports for licensing and may instead use their existing medical board reports to complete the process.
