Turkey implements new national occupational standards for four professions
The Vocational Qualifications Authority has introduced new national occupational standards through Communiqué No. 2026/11, published in the Official Gazette. This regulation establishes professional frameworks for four specific roles: Gardener (Level 4), Poultry Gender Separator (Level 3), Agricultural Worker (Level 2), and Poultry Breeding Technician (Level 3).
The new standards for Agricultural Workers (Level 2) define the scope of work to include preparing plant production areas, planting, maintenance, harvesting, and post-harvest activities. The definition also covers various working environments such as farms, nurseries, orchards, vineyards, and greenhouses. The standards emphasize adherence to occupational health and safety, environmental protection legislation, and quality requirements, while acknowledging the physically demanding nature of the work in variable weather conditions.
