Turkey increases social assistance payments for families and caregivers
Turkey's Ministry of Family and Social Services has implemented increased monthly payments for two major social support programs: Social and Economic Support (SED) and Home Care Assistance.
Under the updated SED program, monthly support for children has been adjusted based on education levels. Payments now range from approximately 5,986 TL to 13,470 TL, with the highest amount designated for students in higher education. In August, the ministry distributed over 2.1 billion TL in SED payments.
Additionally, Home Care Assistance for fully dependent citizens and their families has increased from 13,878 TL to 15,775 TL per month, following adjustments to the civil servant salary coefficient. Minister Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş announced that 7.5 billion TL is being distributed this month for this program, contributing to a total of 48.6 billion TL provided since the start of 2026.
