Turkey initiates implementation of National Solidarity and Social Integration Law

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has emphasized the importance of the recently passed Law on Strengthening National Solidarity and Social Integration, noting that the legislation received 467 affirmative votes in Parliament. Erdoğan stated that the process aims to resolve long-standing issues and move the country away from previous eras of tutelage, calling on political parties and the media to support the initiative rather than obstructing it with divisive rhetoric.

To implement the process, the Monitoring and Evaluation Board held its first meeting at Beştepe, chaired by Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz. The meeting included high-level attendance from the Ministers of Justice, Foreign Affairs, Interior, and National Defense, as well as the head of the National Intelligence Organization (MİT).

The board has established four strategic sub-commissions to manage the process:

1. Judicial and Legal Affairs Coordination: To classify the legal status of organization members who surrender. 2. Monitoring and Detection: To manage the timeline and methods for weapons surrender and field verification. 3. Social Adaptation and Integration: To oversee the rehabilitation and social reintegration of former militants through psychological and medical support. 4. Disarmament and Strategic Coordination: To ensure general strategic planning and coordination.
