Turkey intensifies combine harvester inspections to prevent grain loss and fires

Agricultural authorities in Turkey have intensified inspections of combine harvesters to ensure efficient and safe harvesting. In Kars, the Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry is conducting field checks to verify the technical suitability of machinery and ensure proper harvest settings. These measures are specifically designed to minimize grain loss and protect the annual yield of local producers.

In Bilecik, particularly in the Pazaryeri district, inspections have been heightened following recent fires caused by harvesting equipment. Authorities are focusing on fire prevention, mandating that all harvesters carry at least two functional 6-kilogram fire extinguishers. Operators are also being instructed on essential maintenance, such as cleaning straw and dust from engine and exhaust sections, to prevent sparks from igniting agricultural lands or forests.
