Turkey investigates 10 catering firms for public tender collusion

The Turkish Competition Authority has launched a formal investigation into ten companies operating in the mass catering services sector. The probe follows a preliminary investigation into allegations that these firms violated Article 4 of the Law on the Protection of Competition.

The investigation focuses on whether these companies engaged in collusive practices during public tenders organized by government institutions and organizations. Authorities aim to determine if such actions restricted competition and resulted in financial losses for the public sector.

The companies under investigation include Akyol Kurumsal Yemek Hizmetleri, Aş Dünyası Yemek Hizmetleri, Azık Yemek, Bircan Temizlik ve Yemek Hizmetleri, Emiroğulları Yemek Fabrikaları, Gusto Toplu Yemek Üretim Hizmetleri, Kaf Yemek, Kalfoğlu Yemek Ticaret, Paraf Yemek, and Şimal Yemek. The Competition Authority noted that the decision to open an investigation does not, in itself, constitute proof of a legal violation.
