Turkey issues large-scale kaymakam reassignment and regulatory updates in June 2026
The Turkish Official Gazette (Resmi Gazete) published a series of decisions on 19 June 2026, covering amendments to the Police Academy Capital Management Regulation, changes to the nuclear facility oversight regulation, new anti‑competitive import directives, several Constitutional Court rulings, and daily exchange‑rate and debt‑instrument values set by the Central Bank.
A separate decree published on 17 June 2026 listed 244 district governors (kaymakams) reassigned to new districts across the country. The reshuffle, the largest single movement of district administrators, affected all regions, with the highest numbers of appointments in Erzurum (11), Artvin (9) and Van (8). The list also highlighted seven newly appointed female kaymakams.
Both publications were made available online immediately after midnight, and the decisions are being closely monitored by civil servants and the public.
